This unique event aims to:Disseminate the latest research on conferencing usage, impacts and potential (which is considerable) from JISC-financed Green IT research projects by SusteIT (in collaboration with Janet UK) and the Welsh Video Network (WVN);Highlight successful uses of the technology within the sector, and their benefits to individuals and organisations;Build a balanced view of conferencing use, which acknowledges that face-to-face discussion can be essential and that many conferencing applications are about supplementing and extending, rather than completely replacing, it (hence our ‘physical’ event about virtual technology!); andDebate potential sector level actions to increase uptake and overcome barriers – e.
